The brainstorming process has officially begun for Maze Gallery. We have 27 contributors signed up so far, so here’s a closer look at how it’s going to work the next 2 weeks:

I spend a lot of time with my kids and can’t always get to a computer to make beautiful graphics, so here’s what I’m working with this week. Don’t worry, it’s all going to be in plain text too – my handwriting isn’t good when it’s NOT in crayon.

The golden rule: everything is optional. If you want to write, go ahead and write.

Submissions open Saturday, April 13th. Early entries will not be evaluated until then, so hold onto those wonderful text files until then.

  • Pitch ideas
  • Gather ideas
  • Introduce yourself
  • Find collaborators
  • Announce your intentions
    • if you do put an idea on the board that you intend to write, please label it so others will know to contact you if they want to collaborate, and to avoid multiple writers writing the same thing without knowing
  • Express your thoughts on how the game should look/work
  • Use this time to plan/outline/diagram or do whatever personal prep is helpful
  • Vote on tech & aesthetics
    • Ink vs. Yarnspinner for writing
    • Interactive Fiction or Point-and-Click for how players interact

We are still accepting more collaborators! Latecomers welcome because, again, everything is optional. We even have a visual project timeline geared towards setting expectations for writers.

See you among the twisty little passages
